Join in for an evening of Afghan history, culture, food, music, poetry, and the voice of Afghan women.
About this event
This fundraiser is organized to help impoverished families and orphans survive the upcoming winter season in Afghanistan.
Join others for a night to liberate the voices of Afghan women, and to learn about the Afghan culture and history through various performing arts.
The evening agenda includes a traditional dance performance, live Afghan music, poetry, a brief lecture on Afghanistan’s history, Afghan women sharing their lived experiences, and a fashion show featuring Afghan women wearing traditional, bejeweled, and colourful Afghan dresses.
This event is in partnership with Children Without Borders (CWB) to provide needful families and orphans with a winter package. A winter package consists of necessary food items, and supplies to create a sandali (a low table with lit charcoal underneath, covered with a duvet used to keep warm). CWB has no admin fees.
They’re excited to show you the Afghanistan the mainstream media never shows!
