In this Virtual Information Session, WorkBC experts and a representative from the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction will provide an overview of WorkBC Employment Services and highlight the benefits of the resource for BCSIS clients.
During the pandemic, the need for employment services heighted. Referrals to external supports such as WorkBC can help to relieve pressure on BCSIS Service Providers. However, to ensure that client referrals are successful, it is essential that frontline settlement workers understand the services, supports available to newcomer clients, eligibility criteria based on immigration status, and effective referral methods.
In this session, speakers will explore the current WorkBC pathway to employment, temporary policies for displaced Ukrainians, and various policy updates. Speakers will provide information on the benefits of interagency referrals, including referral protocols, coordinated services and effective practices in cross-agency referrals. After the presentations, there will be a live Q&A period.
