

ISSofBC is hosting a series of free workshops this October to help asylum seekers and refugee claimants in Vancouver and Burnaby learn about the education system in British Columbia. The sessions will cover the K–12 school system, including how to choose the right school for your child, understanding school districts and catchments, and how to register your child in school.
Workshops are offered both online and in person and will be available in multiple languages — including English, Arabic, Spanish, Farsi, and Dari. Childminding and bus tickets are also available to help families attend.

Thursday, Oct 23, 2025: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (English & Arabic)
Tuesday, Oct 28, 2025: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (English & Spanish)
Wednesday, Oct 29, 2025: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (English, Farsi & Dari)
