The BC Safe Haven Program offers a range of services to support refugee claimants and other vulnerable newcomers in British Columbia. Below are brief descriptions of each service category to assist you in navigating the available resources:

Accommodation Search
Assistance in finding and securing safe, affordable housing, understanding tenancy rights, and settling into long-term accommodation. -
Group Counselling
Group sessions offering trauma-informed support, connection, and healing for those with shared experiences. -
Individual Counselling
One-on-one clinical counselling to address trauma, stress, and mental health concerns, with specialized care for survivors of torture and trauma. -
Job Search
Guidance with job searching, resume writing, interview preparation, and connecting with employers and job placement services. -
Language Assessment and Training
Assessment and English Language Training (ELT) tailored to different skill levels and professional goals. -
Settlement
Orientation, information, and referrals to help clients navigate immigration, access services, and build community connections.
