Description: In February 2019, we hosted a webinar titled “How to support refugees and refugee claimants who are facing domestic violence” with speaker Rosa Elena Arteaga from the Battered Women’s Support Services (BWSS). In this webinar Rosa provided an introductory overview on the topic of domestic violence and how front-line workers and agencies can support newcomer women.

In Part 2 to our webinar from February 2019, Rosa returns to provide more in-depth training on this topic. In this session we will be launching the new Safety Assessment and Safety Planning Tool Rosa has developed in partnership with the BC Refugee Hub. This webinar will provide training for front-line workers on how to use these new tools to complete safety assessments and create safety plans for clients facing domestic violence. We will also be sharing a list of resources and services in BC.
