SFU’s registration is now open for several of
their FREE online after-school programs! These FREE and virtual after-school programs help Surrey children and youth develop important relationships with SFU mentors while engaging in a variety of recreational, media, social, and educational programs.
Check out their programs that support children and youth with literacy, social connection, creativity, and English language skills.
- Tutoring, Homework, and English Support Program
This program is for newcomer youth in Surrey between Grades 5 to 9 who need extra help with their homework (English, Social Studies, Science or Math).Program Dates and Times:
January 6th, 2021 to March 10th, 2021 | Wednesdays, 4:00-5:30 pm
Registration deadline:
Thursday, January 14th, 2021 at 11:59PM (a couple of spots are still available!)
- Racing Readers
This program is for Surrey children in Grades 2 to 5 who need some extra support with their reading and numbers. It also involves physical activity.Program Dates and Times:
Monday group: January 18th, 2021 to March 8th, 2021 3:30-4:30 pm
Wednesday group: January 20th, 2021 to March 10th, 2021 3:30-4:30 pm
Please note that children can register and attend one day per week, not both.

- Media Minds
This program is for Surrey youth in Grades 5, 6 and 7 to experience creativity and social connection through film education. Youth will also learn about storytelling and animation via the program Pivot Animator.Program Dates and Times:
