The Curriculum Guidelines website is tailored for BC Safe Haven formal English language training programs, but can be accessed and used by anyone. It provides an orientation to the needs, experiences, and concerns of refugee claimant language learners; outlines six foundational principles that shape inclusive and relevant language teaching; and offers practical strategies for both stand-alone language programs and integrating refugee claimant students into LINC classes. The Resource Hub page collects resources from across Canada that are relevant to refugee claimant language instruction, as well as original tools and trainings created through the BC Safe Haven Resource Network program.
This is the first resource of its kind in Canada, bringing together research and innovation to create curriculum resources specifically designed for language instruction tailored to the unique needs of refugee claimant language learners.
