SFU – Refugee Livelihood Lab: Trampoline – Ideas into Action! Program

Recruitment has begun for Refugee Livelihood Lab’s Ideas Into Action! program.

Ideas into Action! is a free 12-week program for people/teams with an idea for organizing a project, social business or non-profit that will address problems faced by refugee and other migrant communities in Surrey. People with lived experience of the refugee or immigrant journey and/or with deep networks in these communities are welcome to apply.

What is the Refugee Livelihood Lab? The program supports migrant communities in organizing high-impact projects to shift systems towards equity by:

  • amplifying the voices, stories and wisdom of migrant change-makers
  • convening informed conversations that support us to identify and interrupt problematic patterns facing refugee and migrant communities and;
  • co-creating new narratives, practices and ways of being together that reflect a vision of justice, dignity, and economic empowerment for all.

Apply Here!

Refer People You Know:
Do you know migrant change-makers who need support ground-testing their initiative? The program is designed to be complementary to someone studying or working full or part-time, with evening sessions. If someone comes to mind, please link them to our website or connect them with us by email. If you or they require interpretation or have other access needs, please let us know directly so we can support you/them better.

Application deadline is February 17th, 2020, and the program starts on Tuesday March 3, 2020, 5:30-8:30pm at Surrey Central Library.

For more information about the program offering, calendar details, and how to apply, please visit the program website. If you would like to find out more before you apply, please email Nada El Masry at [email protected]
