WEBINAR phone

This webinar held on February 8th, 2024 and hosted by the BC Refugee Hub in collaboration with AMSSA’s BC Refugee Resource Network. The webinar introduced the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP), an initiative that merges refugee resettlement with economic immigration. The EMPP offers a unique pathway for skilled refugees to immigrate to Canada through existing economic programs while simultaneously providing employers with access to a new pool of qualified candidates to fill their job openings. During the webinar, representatives from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) offered a high-level overview of the EMPP program. They discussed the program’s inception, its policy framework, and the logistics involved in its execution. Our guest speakers from Jumpstart Refugee Talent shared their expertise on the practical implementation of the EMPP program. Presenters discussed how this program supported clients on a one-on-one basis and what clients could expect from the program.

Speakers included:

– Dianne Rainville, Senior Policy Analyst at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
– Andrew Biletskyi, Talent Partner at Jumpstart Refugee Talent
