Description: In February 2019, we hosted a webinar titled “How to support refugees and refugee claimants who are facing domestic violence” with speaker Rosa Elena Arteaga from the Battered Women’s Support Services (BWSS). In this webinar Rosa provided an introductory overview on the topic of domestic violence and how front-line workers and agencies can support newcomer women.

In Part 2 to our webinar from February 2019, Rosa returned to provide more in-depth training on this topic. In this session The BC Refugee Hub and BWSS launched the new Safety Assessment and Safety Planning Tool developed in partnership by Rosa Elena Arteaga (BWSS) and Bahar Taheri (Project Consultant, BC Refugee Hub). This training webinar is for front-line workers on how to use the new tools to complete safety assessments and create safety plans for clients facing domestic violence.
