Chimo Community Services: BC Safe Haven Program

Chimo Community Services offers the BC SAF HAVEN program, which provides comprehensive support for refugee claimants and vulnerable newcomers. The program helps individuals navigate their initial settlement in Canada by offering essential services such as:

  • Food and housing assistance: Support with basic needs to ensure a stable start in Canada.
  • Community orientation: Information and guidance on adjusting to life in Canada.
  • Immigration and legal assistance: Help with navigating immigration processes and accessing legal support.
  • Mental health support: Access to mental health services and non-clinical counseling.
  • Employment services: Guidance on finding employment and skills training.
  • Connections to local resources: Referrals to community-based services for ongoing support.

The program is available to a wide range of individuals, including refugee claimants, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable newcomers.
