Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has introduced a temporary public policy to allow certain foreign nationals with asylum claims found ineligible to be referred to the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) to access open work permits sooner. The policy helps bridge delays between an ineligibility decision and eligibility to apply for a Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA), allowing affected individuals to work and support themselves while they await further steps in the process.
