MAP-BC: World Refugee Day 2025

On June 20, 2025, the Vancouver Public Library – Central Branch will hold a World Refugee Day event from 12:00 to 1:30 PM, co-hosted and organized by the Vancouver Public Library and the Multi-Agency Partnership BC (MAP). The event will feature refugee storytelling, a panel discussion with refugee advocates, and information on programs and services available to refugees. This gathering offers an opportunity for the public to learn more about the experiences of refugees and the supports available in the community.

Panelists:
  • Saleem Spindari, former CCR Executive Committee member
  • Aleks Manzur former President of the CCR and Co Executive Director of Rainbow Refugee Society
  • Moderated by Thanh Lam, Executive Director of Gordon Neighbourhood House
