A new resource is now available to help settlement and frontline service providers better support individuals with precarious immigration status in British Columbia.
Developed through AMSSA’s BC Safe Haven Resource Network, the Guide to Services in BC for Clients with Precarious Status brings together information on the programs, services, and supports that may be available to individuals whose immigration status affects their eligibility for certain services.
The guide helps practitioners understand where access to key programs may change, identifies alternative supports and referral pathways where available, and includes information for individuals who are applying for or awaiting a Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA) when applicable.
While the guide is intended as a province-wide resource and does not provide community-specific service listings, it offers practical guidance to help service providers identify appropriate resources and referrals within their local areas.
As policies and available services continue to evolve, this guide will be updated to reflect the latest information. It is a valuable resource for settlement organizations, community agencies, and anyone supporting clients with precarious immigration status in British Columbia.
